Joseph P Cirone > WASHINGTON DC - (January 17, 2009) - U.S. Coast Guard Reserve Lieutenant Christina Grimm, of Coast Guard Sector Baltimore, while serving as Resources Unit Leader at ‘Camp Washington,’ the U.S. Coast Guard’s Unified Command tent city, established at Coast Guard Station Washington, staffed with active-duty, reserve, Auxiliary and civilian Coast Guard personnel, along with representatives from local and state agencies, in support of the 2009 Presidential Inauguration, discusses deployment of human resources with US Coast Guard auxiliarist Edgar Diaz (r) of Auxiliary Flotilla 24-04 (Gaithersburg, MD), while auxiliarists Manish Bhatt (c)  (Auxiliary Flotilla 25-03 Laurel, MD) and Joyce Yarnell (l)  (Auxiliary Flotilla 22-05 Seaford, DE) look on. Engle (l) (Director of Auxiliary - Coast Guard Fifth District, Southern Region, Portsmouth, VA),  congratulates auxiliarist Barbara Allen (r) of Division 25 (Potomac Guardian Division), after presenting her with the Auxiliary Achievement Medal, during its inaugural Change of Watch and Awards Banquet, held at the Army-Navy Country Club. The Division, formed January 1, 2009, was the result of the combination of Auxiliary Divisions 2 and 14, to better align with Coast Guard Sector Baltimore’s recent reorganization. Joseph P Cirone > ARLINGTON, VA - (January 17, 2009) - US Coast Guard Captain Brian D. Kelley (l), Commanding Officer of US Coast Guard Sector Baltimore, congratulates US Coast Guard Auxiliary member David Adams (r) of Division 25 (Potomac Guardian Division), after presenting him with the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation (with operational device), at the division’s inaugural Change of Watch and Awards Banquet, held at the Army-Navy Country Club. Auxiliarist Adams, along with auxiliarists June Gaines and Bill Berens, were awarded for rescuing seven people on July 17, 2008, on the lower end of the Potomac River, from an 18-foot boat which was taking on water and had smoke billowing from its engine. Four children, donning lifejackets and three adults, without lifejackets, were rescued from the sinking boat. The Auxiliary crew provided lifejackets to the three adults; began dewatering the sinking boat and towed it to a marina in Cole's Point, VA. The Division, formed January 1, 2009, was the result of the combination of Auxiliary Divisions 2 and 14, to better align with Coast Guard Sector Baltimore’s recent reorganization.
